Where to begin with this absurd post.
If you really want all our political leaders to adhere to islamic injunctions, then I am sorry to inform you that the vast majority of the Pakistani parliament, including members of every single political party will be debarred from political office.
As an example:
1. Imran Khan (PTI) – fathered a daughter out of wedlock —> unislamic
2. Mian Nawaz Sharif (PML-N) – involved in numerous corruption scandals, most notably involving bribery and loan defaults —> unislamic
3. Maulana Fazlur Rahman (JUI-F) – Many corruption scandals. Earned the nickname “Maulana Diesel” for smuggling petrol to Afghanistan during Benazir Bhutto’s first government. Just a few weeks ago, the NWFP government took back hundreds of acres of public land that the Maulana had distributed to his relatives in NWFP. Maulana Sahib’s corruption —> unislamic
3. Any senior leader of the MQM —> You can choose any number of things for the MQM, but for sake of brevity, let’s say — political violence (May 12 violence and killing of Hakim Said) and thuggery —> unislamic
Now, I’m not doubting that Mr. Taseer, by consuming alcohol, is indulging in un-islamic behaviour. But, let us judge our politicians by their administrative competency, not personal lives.
After all, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Founder of our dear country, is known to have drank alcohol(unislamic!), and married a Parsi (forbidden by Islamic law!). Yet, his consumption of alchohol, and supposed unislamic lifestyle didn’t make him a bad leader. Without him, after all, we would be all loyal subjects of the Republic of India.
In fact, the only person who objected to Jinnah was the Jamaat-e-Islami. Maudoodi called him Kafir-e-Azam, citing the same reasons you have: that we drank alcohol, married a Parsi, etc. But then again, the Jamaat was against the creation of Pakistan, and has supported every military dictator in this country’s history. So maybe we shouldn’t take them seriously.
Hopefully, we can all move on, and not judge our leaders based on their personal habits, and instead hold them accountable for their political actions.
In conclusion, my major disagreement with your post is the following: Why do we stop our critiques of our leaders based on western lifestyles? If you want to use Islam as a means of judging our leaders or even fellow members of society, then corruption (as practiced by the Sharifs and Zardari), political violence (the IJT and the MQM) and fuedalism (most of the PPP, PML-Q and a large proporiton of PML-N belong to this category), are all unislamic, and we, as citizens of Pakistan, must condemn all of them.
Your blog post smacks of scoring political points, instead of exposing the supposed unislamic actions of our political leadership.

I felt bad looking these pictures like a Mulsim and Pakistani should but All of us should do Istagfar because our Aamal are so bad therefore these sort of Administrators are imposed on us from Allah.
According to the meanings of saying of Muhammad PBUH “when peoples’ deeds are bad allah imposed earthquakes on them and impose Administrators on them who are deeply involved in adultry and drinkings etc.
In these Hadeeth Muhammad PBUH indicationd our bad Amaal like
Interest, Disobidience of Parants, Adultry, Alcohol Drinking, Music, Loyality to our wives and bad behaviours toward our mothers, Men wear jewellery specially gold etc
all of us think about this hadeeth and then think what is happining. Salman Taseer can not even take one breath without the permission of Allah so how come he can drink with out allah’s wish on the money of pakistani poor ppl.
Surely Allah has imposed Administrator like Salman Taseer on us. By God there are so many who do these acts but the thing is we can not see them.
Lets come to the solution and do Istighfar as per the saying of Muhammad PBUH.

i want to post some questions regarding issue.
1 what is intention behind publishing these objectionable photos? Reforming the institute of governership (Islah) or abusing the governer or political point scoring or Blackmailing?
2 Is there any argument from quran and hadith that an individual (specially public office holder like governer) is free to do wahtever he wants in his so called private life?
3 Does islam give us permission to waste our money in such sinful parties even if it is earned by private bussiness and not by goverment resources.?
Now i want to draw attention to some important points
1 Should not we mind and condemn the abusive languge used in conversation?
2 its not the quarrel or contention of high class or middle class. its the question of our religion and islamic teaching. and i think we all are muslims, whether from high or low class.
3 and i agree with some commentors that we need change in system. But what should be new system. i think only solution of our problems is Islamic system of life (Which covers all walk of life whether goverment, judiciary, education, economics or bussiness). Sort out on ur own how to bring this wave of islamic change in our country and society.

Some people are saying that it is their private life but one must be clear that leaders don not have their life private in a way that are held responsible and accountable for their actions in private life as well. What these people are doing is not at all acceptable from our leaders in their private life even. Same goes to their families as well. Do you say that if our leaders are doing something in their private life we should not be bother.
You remeber the Minica Lewinsky – Clinton scandal. What they did is not bad at all in the west and anyone can do the same without someone even pointing a finger at them but once it come to American’s president then people did not leave him. This is how leaders are treated in the west. There are examples when very successful and popular leaders had to leave leave politics even once a member of their family did something wrong. So don’t consider that we shouln’t be worried about the private life of our leadrs. We must be worried and find out what character they have got.

Well this is not very strange in Pakistani leadership. Most of them have same culture. I think we should not abuse others and should try to bring good people ahead by voting or contesting elections. We as a nation have become corrupt and unislamic not only in bear or vine seance but in other areas as well. This life style is condemnable as Pakistanis but we also must condemn the other violations of Islam and our constitution. Musharraf disrespected the constitution, what we did? waited for 9 years so that he can play with us and our country? I appreciate that you guys dislike this lifestyle but I expect every one of you will struggle to bring good leaders.

A Governor who inaccordance with the Pakistan Constitution represents the people of the Punjab Province should be of a decent man to represent. Since, he is holding a PUBLIC OFFICE his so called private life is not ammuned to be fired at. My elder brother`s grand son was also the class mate of Governor`s daughter Sheherbano at American school and both have had very very intimate relationship. I was told by the boy by the father of the bou ( my nephew ) who happend to be a well known industrialist/exporter and lives at Defence at Lahore.
I do not understand as to why and on what moral grounds PPP and its mindless leaders such as Raja Riaz etc defend the Governor and why do not they disown and condemn him. Today on 2onov 2008, I was feeling sick when Raja Riaz defended Governor on @ BOLTA PAKISTAN @ on AAJ TV.
Salman Taseer is the remnant of Gen MUSH and was a minister inhis caretaker government. He has no right to hold a decent public office. Gulam Mustafa Khar was also almost having the same persuations in Governor House during the time of Z A BHUTTO. PPP is not the PPP after the death of Baynazir. They all cashed in on the SYMPATHY VOTE and Yankee`s help. Those who voted PPP have I beleive may have learnt a very bitter lesson.

All those who wish to practice the same culture and way of practical life should come to UK or USA, Canada or on nude beaches of Brighton UK to enjoy life. Point should be noted that Drunkards are not allowed to drive a car, and in pakistan the drunkard is chosen to drive a whole state. I mean what is the criteria in pakistan to choose a president or governor? They search for drunkard? But then there are too many in upper layer. Then they see if his wife is drunkard too? If his daughter swim with men, dance with boys and pose for photo session in semi nude? Whose son is busy in partying with women? Who dont know that presidency or governorship is not for dance, party, and kissing other amrici ambassadors . Who don’t know the purpose of it is to make sure that no person remain thirsty for water and education, hungry, without shelter. no one remains jobless.
In one sentence, do they search for a person who will make peoples life more miserable, encourage people to dance, party and convert to christian culture, and their daughters to slut around with setting up an example his own daughter and son?
Pakistani people can only get respect by following ISLAM. Choose to fear ALLAH, and all people will fear you. High commnad of Right wing Hindu organizations too, respect Moulana Masood Azahar and his comrades for their sacrifices and their stance and their love for DEEN. I’m born in England and i call myself a british muslim, i havn’t or would let my daughter wear small skirts or bare any part of the legs or arm’s. I don’t know why the elite of pakistan think that showing your body or drinking alchole is good and fun. Allah has band these things for a reason. They need to read the quran tranaslation to understand what they are doing, it’s just the lowest thing they can do.
The girls can have friend around have parties but at least wear decent clothes and have soft drinks, you can still enjoy your life and for taseer son’s would they like men looking at their sisters as they do to women they hang around with (in bikini’s). live and let live. He is answerable to God and so are we all. Stop verbal assaults on peoples’ families. Judge Salman Taseer for his work which constitutes us all. He has been a successful business man both locally and overseas. What he does on his time is his business and none of your.
